Checking your Web Pages: Link Checkers and HTML Validators
     A summary of the effectiveness of various software packages, based on
     testing each one on a single Web page containing over 150 external
     links. Key aspects of each programme are investigated including cost,
     features, and an assessment for link checking, browser compatibility,
     download time, HTML validation, accessibility for the disabled, link
     popularity and spelling. Recommendations and a summary of features are
     included.
Intranet Case Studies
     Case studies on the development and use of intranets, with stories
     from Harley-Davidson, Ford, Sun Microsystems and Netscape. Provides
     access to additional intranet resources including design strategies,

Thomas Register Europe
     Company profiles of European manufacturers searchable by product,

Ultimate Directory
     UK company directory searchable by name or business category. In
     addition, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses can be
     obtained for specific individuals. Local information such as travel
     advice and entertainment guides is available.
White Paper on CLA's Proposals for Licensing Digitisation in Higher
Education
     Summary and full-text of a paper explaining how the Copyright
     Licensing Agency proposes to license digitisation for higher
     education, including the business model adopted.
Government of the Federated States of Micronesia
     Official information about the country of Micronesia provided by its
     government. Headings include geography, time, history, people,
     culture, language, health, education, agriculture, forestry,
     fisheries, economy, tourism, transportation, government and foreign
     affairs. There is also a map and information on the four individual
     states: Chuuk, Kosrae, Pohnpei and Yap.
Muscle Power
     A voluntary organisation for those with a Neuromuscular Impairment
     (NMI). Individuals can meet as a group via telephone conferences,
     email and policy meetings, and extracts from Muscle Power - The
     Magazine are available with details on how to subscribe.
Educational Multimedia Task Force
     Information about the initiative to study and develop educational and
     cultural products and services accessible via television sets,
     computers and networks in Europe. Describes the history and background
     of the task force, its projects, news and events.
Chambers of Commerce
     Links to Chambers of Commerce throughout the UK. Information available
     includes postal addresses, telephone and fax numbers, email addresses
     and links to Web sites.

Molecular Modeling Electronic Conference
     Journal containing current work in molecular modeling and
     computational chemistry, including applications of quantum and
     statistical mechanics.
Andrew N Gagg's Photo Flora
     Details of a flora picture library containing thousands of
     photographic transparencies of European wild flora. Only a few
     pictures are available online, but there is a detailed list of common
     and Latin names for thousands of wild plants, divided into trees and
     shrubs, grasses, sedges and rushes, water plants, ferns and fern
     allies, flowers, and habitats.
General Information About Primates
     Links to a collection of resources about primates. Includes
     information on primate classification and specific species such as
     aye-ayes, siamang, bonobo and the black-capped capuchin.
HC125
     Code of practice for the housing and care of animals in designated
     breeding and supplying establishments. Discusses acquisition and
     despatch of primates, animal health, environmental conditions, diet
     and breeding programmes. Requirements of individual species including
     marmosets, owl monkeys, squirrel monkeys, macaques, baboons, new and
     old world monkeys are detailed.
Primate Behavior
     Links to articles, research findings and bibliographies about the

Genes and Disease
     Information about the relationship between genetic factors and

New Gene Map of the Human Genome
     Map giving the locations of more than 30,000 genes which can be used
     to identify and isolate those that directly cause human ailments or
     increase susceptibility to disease. Produced by the Human Genome
     Project which aims to develop a complete and accurate DNA sequence
     representing the genetic blueprint and evolutionary history of the
     human species.

Muscular Dystrophy
     Article describing the genetic basis of muscular dystrophy and its
     effects. Information is given on different types of the disorder such
     as Becker, Distal, Facioscapulohumeral and Myopathies, with a separate
     section on the most common form, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).
Baltic Dyslexia Research Lab
     Articles about non-verbal auditory stimulation of children and adults
     with reading and spelling difficulties as a remediation for dyslexia.
     Features case studies, related references and course contacts.
     Includes details of training programs for auditory stimulation and
     laterality.
British Dyslexia Association
     A national organisation for specific learning difficulties consisting
     of local dyslexia associations and support groups. Publications and

British Journal of Photography
     Magazine for professional photographers, established 1854, and
     published weekly in the UK. The online companion does not duplicate

     current photography exhibitions, a discussion forum, a set of
     photography online tutorials and an image gallery.
Ian Dagnall, Travel Photographer
     Online portfolio of over 80 small photographs from round the world,
     including sections on people, cities, skiing and properties, as well

Edmund Nagele Photography
     Online catalogue of numerous small photographs from round the world,
     including sections on Americana, castles, concepts, Europe, flora,
     landscapes and moods, as well as digital art derived from photographs

Photo Ecosse: Photographers Working in Scotland
     A small online collection of work from several freelance photographers
     based in Scotland. Featured sequences cover Rwanda, Sarajevo, and the
     death of Diana Princess of Wales.
Virtual Photo Gallery
     An online collection of over 70 recent photographs in JPEG format,
     submitted by numerous individual photographers, selected and published
     by the British Journal of Photography.
Vox Bulgarica Online
     Catalogue of a publishing venture, whose mission is to publish and
     distribute the music of Bulgaria and Eastern Europe.
Brass Band Bibliography
     Bibliography of brass band resources with titles, authors and
     publication details. Topics covered include specific brass bands,
     brass instruments and music, current brass band periodicals, films, TV
     and video.

British Archaeology
     Journal offering news, features, comment and reviews on British
     archaeology. Full-text version is available online two months after

Current Archaeology
     Information about the magazine devoted to British archaeology, which

Archaeology: The Loss of Innocence
     The re-publication of David Clark's classic paper on the state of

ArchaeoPress
     Publishers of British Archaeological Reports which cover all areas of

British Archaeological Association
     Society founded in 1843 to promote the study of archaeology, art and
     architecture and the preservation of our national antiquities. Site
     gives details of lectures, conferences, publications and membership.
Council for Independent Archaeology
     Organisation formed to represent the independent, or amateur
     archaeologist, offering support for those who do archaeology in their
     spare time. Site provides background information, and details of
     meetings, archaeology placements and news.
Current Archaeology: Books
     Reviews of recently published books on archaeology, covering
     prehistory, the Classical and Roman period, Medieval and later, and
     archaeology overseas.
Dig! Digs! Digs!: The Directory of British Excavations
     A listing of archaeology bodies who include volunteers in their
     archaeological fieldwork, arranged by region.
MARS: Monuments at Risk Survey
     Details on a survey to determine the number and condition of
     archaeological sites and monuments in England, and to develop
     resources and skills to protect them in the future.
Society for Medieval Archaeology
     Society founded in 1957 to study British history since the Roman
     period. Site provides the full-text of the current newsletter, and
     membership and publication details.
Stones of Wonder: Prehistoric Observatories in Scotland
     Guide to prehistoric monuments in Scotland, dating to the Neolithic or
     the Bronze Age, which have orientations to the sun, moon or stars.

Caradon Archaeology Group
     Group which focuses on the archaeology of South East Cornwall and the

Highland Archaeology Service

     Society was founded in 1855 for the purpose of investigating the
     antiquities and early history of the Cities of London and Westminster
     and the Metropolitan County of Middlesex. Site offers details of
     lectures, conferences, publications, and contents of the annual
     journal 'Transactions'.
Lincolnshire's Archaeology
     Includes the full-text of the Lincolnshire Archaeological Handbook,
     and images and information on sites such as a Bronze Age village,
     wrecks, and Roman tablets.
Petroglyph UK: Exploring Yorkshires Bronze Age Rock Carvings
     Information on British prehistoric 'cup and ring' rock carvings, with
