Do you want to optimise the online discovery of your digital collections? To develop your abilities to evaluate their usage and impact?
There are just a few places left on our two one-day workshops focussed on equipping you and your colleagues with the knowledge and skills to maximize the reach of your digital collections online and demonstrate the impact of their usage. Both workshops will be held in central Manchester.
Maximising the use of digital collections in learning and research- 3 December
Need help choosing channels to promote your digital collections? Want to develop strategies for promoting your collections and their content? This workshop will equip you and your organisation with skills that maximise the reach of those collections online. You will delve into how search engines such as Google index and present your collections, including relevant terminology and jargon, and be introduced to Schema.org as a mechanism to boost online discovery and use.
Measuring usage and impact with digital collections– 10 December
Really get to grips with the impact of your digital collections. Develop and further your skills in planning for your use of web analytics in general and using Google Analytics to support digital collections. Really discover the meaning of ‘impact’ in relation to digital collections. During this workshop you will get an introduction to the Balanced Value Impact Model (BVI Model)- a model specifically created for use in GLAM (galleries, libraries, archives and museums). Learn the key underpinning of the BVI Model and how to apply them to your organisations impact activities.
The workshops offer a mix of immersive exercises, case studies, talks and follow-on materials to transform theory into practical outcomes that you can apply to your organisation.
