Try partimage http://www.partimage.org/
it does a number of filesystems ext2/ext3, FAT16/32, ReiserFS, and HPFS with beta support for JFS, XFS, HFS, UFS.
It also has experimental support for NTFS (Windows NT & 2000) which may be suitable if your workstations are using the network for critical user filestore.
