Italianisti/colleghi;
Recently I came across a reference to the fifteenth-century tale
"Istorietta amorosa fra Leonora de' Bardi e Ippolito Bondelmonti" as being
the work of Leon Battista Alberti (I had believed the author to be
unknown). My preliminary investigations into Storie della letteratura
italiana have revealed no reference to this short story under the Alberti
entries. Could someone let me know if this is a recent attribution to
Alberti?
With thanks,
Nicole Prunster
The work was attributed to Alberti by Cecil Grayson in 1973. There
has since been a detailed discussion by Judy Rawson in Grayson's
festschrift of 1988.
