Due to a few exciting new project wins, our West Midlands client is currently seeking a Senior GIS Technician. It’s likely the role in time will involve overseeing a few juniors, but it’s by no means a management role. You will be undertaking some of the more complex tasks on the project as well as overseeing the production work and junior staff.
The role is working on a new infrastructure project. Working with field based survey data and transferring this into a GIS format using ArcGIS. The client also does some work around CAD. So some CAD experience would help. But they do have others on the team who can handle some of that work.
The role is until the end of 2018 starting late July. The hourly rate will be around £20ph (ltd).
Essential
•Minimum 3 years proven experience with GIS, specifically ESRI ArcGIS
•Knowledge of database systems SQL Server & Microsoft Access
•Proven project/task management experience. Ability to organise tasks effectively based on work priorities.
•Excellent communication skills, able to communicate regularly with other members of the GIS team about project progress
•Self-motivation with a can-do attitude. Ability to meet sometimes tight deadlines.
Desirable
• Experience in managing other team members on a daily basis
• Experience of working with AutoCAD
• Experience of working with data capture equipment
• Knowledge of ArcSDE. ArcGIS Online
This is a great opportunity for an experienced technician to lead a team and take on some extra responsibility. If you are interested. Please do drop over a CV.
