Hello,
I would like to let you know about an upcoming international conference that’s taking place from the 27th to 29th March in Brisbane – the 2nd Australia and New Zealand Refugee Trauma Recovery in Resettlement Conference. http://www.refugeetraumaconf.org.au/
Hosted by QPASTT (Queensland Program of Assistance to Survivors of Torture and Trauma), this event is bringing together almost 200 presenters over three days, including international human rights barrister, Geoffrey Robertson AO QC. We are very excited about our impressive line-up of speakers, which also includes:
Victor Madrigal-Borloz - Secretary General, International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (IRCT), Denmark
Dr Vikki Reynolds - PhD, Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), Consultant, Instructor and Supervisor, Canada
Professor Raimond Gaita - Professional Fellow, Melbourne Law School and The Faculty of Arts, University of Melbourne. Emeritus Professor of Moral Philosophy at King’s College, London. Senior Consulting Researcher, Centre for Ethics as Study of Human Value, University of Pardubice, Czech Republic
Dr Ann Hood - Chief Executive Officer, Refugees as Survivors, New Zealand
Paris Aristotle AO - Chief Executive Officer, Victorian Foundation for Survivors of Torture Inc., Victoria
And many, many others.
As you will appreciate, this is an incredibly timely and important conference considering recent events affecting asylum seekers and refugees in the Australia/New Zealand region. The theme of the Conference, “Healing in Exile – Current and Future Challenges” will be explored in-depth.
We would like to ask if you could promote the conference and registrations through the Forced Migration Discussion List. Our social media handle is @RefugeeTRIRConf on both Facebook and Twitter. People can register through the event website: http://www.refugeetraumaconf.org.au/
Thank you very much for your support and see you at the Conference!
