The New York Academy of Medicine (NYAM) will offer an intensive 2 day workshop experience in the use of the GRADE system for clinical guideline development. The workshop is a concentrated version of previous NYAM workshops. It is ideal for members of organizations that are developing clinical guidelines as well as consultants, methodologists, and epidemiologists connected to such efforts. 2018 GRADE Faculty:
The NYAM GRADE workshop will be led by Dr. Eddy Lang MD with the assistance of Dr. John J Riva DC MSc and Ms Louise Falzon PGDipInf. Dr. Lang is the Academic and Clinical Department Head for Emergency Medicine at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary, Alberta, CA. He is an experienced member of the GRADE Working Group and has taught the GRADE system to health professionals throughout the Western Hemisphere. Dr. Riva is Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at McMaster University, Ontario, CA. He is a member of the GRADE working group and an associate member of Cochrane Canada. He has contributed to clinical guideline groups using GRADE for the World Health Organization (WHO), World Allergy Organization (WAO), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ministry of Health, American Society of Hematology (ASH). Ms Falzon is a research librarian and biomedical resource specialist at Columbia University Medical Center and Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine. She has extensive experience performing systematic reviews in conjunction with clinical guideline development efforts.
