I have been trying unsuccessfully to get Program Distance to run a model
that includes time (minutes after sunrise) as a covariate in the MCDS. I
had the idea to include time after reading a few papers about MCDS. I
created a mock data set based on real data to test the application of time
as a covariate.
When importing the data, under "point transect' I add in a column called
Obs (text) and Time (integer). DISTANCE gives me an internal error saying
it cannot add the field ' time'. I've tried changing the column type from
integer to decimal to text but still receive the same error. If I were
to change the column name from 'time' to anything else, 'misc' for
example, DISTANCE allows the data to be imported without error. However,
when I run the MCDS model with my 'misc' covariate, the model give me the
error "** Error: Analysis engine terminated unexpectedly (with error code
-1073741663). **" Running the model with 'Obs' works properly.
How can I incorporate time as a covariate in a way that DISTANCE will
allow me to proceed with running the MCDS model?
Thanks in advance,
