Another one..............A landlord in a Housing Association has put a clause in his contracts with his tenants that if they disappear (probably owing arrears) they sign up to granting the Housing Authority permission to obtain their new address from the Council through Council Tax records.
My initial response is..........the Housing Association may have an agreement with their tenants and even if they give consent to the Housing Association under CT legislation we cannot give that information out. The CT records are for those purposes only and we cannot give information out to utilities. We have no agreement with the Housing Association to disclose that information and I feel that this is a definite no:no under CT legislation.
Any thoughts...am I wrong.
