Pervasive 2007 Late Breaking Results and Posters offer a concise format for authors to contribute novel ideas and recent research findings in pervasive computing technologies, systems, and applications. Appropriate topics for Pervasive Late Breaking Results and Posters include, but are not limited to:

- New technologies and devices for pervasive computing
- New applications of pervasive computing technologies
- New interfaces and modes of interactions between people and pervasive computing devices, applications or environments
- New tools, infrastructures, architectures and techniques for designing, implementing & deploying pervasive computing applications
- Evaluations and evaluation methods, for assessing the impact of pervasive computing devices, applications or environments
- Privacy, security, trust & social issues and implications of pervasive computing

Publication and Presentation:

Accepted contributions will be published in the Pervasive 2007 Adjunct Proceedings. As in previous years, these proceedings will be printed by the Austrian Computer Society and be assigned a unique ISBN for reference. The Adjunct Proceedings will also be published electronically on the conference Website.

Accepted papers will be presented as posters in the main conference area throughout the program. There will also be a special reception dedicated to the presentation of posters and demos. Furthermore, authors will have the opportunity to briefly introduce their work in a single plenary session that occurs sometime before the reception. Submissions will be peer reviewed.

Submission and Review Process:

Submissions must be no longer than 4 pages in OCG Format. A sketch outlining the planned poster presentation may be attached as an additional page. Authors should submit electronic versions (in PDF format) of their papers to "Pervasive 2007 LBR and Posters" submission site on EDAS.

Call for Pervasive 2007 Demonstrations:

The category of Research Demonstrations offers a unique opportunity to showcase research prototypes, and to discuss them with an international audience of experts in pervasive computing. To promote this, Pervasive 2007 is seeking interesting and engaging demonstrations of pervasive computing technologies. Proposers are invited to submit Research Demonstrations under the general topics of the conference. Relevant topics include (but are not limited to) the following:

- New technologies and devices for pervasive computing
- New applications of pervasive computing technologies
- New interfaces and modes of interactions between people and pervasive computing devices, applications or environments
- New tools, infrastructures, architectures and techniques for designing, implementing & deploying pervasive computing applications
- Evaluations and evaluation methods, for assessing the impact of pervasive computing devices, applications or environments
- Privacy, security, trust & social issues and implications of pervasive computing

We encourage combining a research demonstration with a short paper that describes the contribution and as an anchor point for future reference. Submissions must be in Adobe PDF format, up to 4 pages in length and conform to the OCG Format. All demonstration submissions will be handled using an electronic submission system. Please submit your demonstration paper to http://edas.info/newPaper.php?c=5183&. If you do not already have an account with EDAS you can register.

The authors should also provide a brief sketch of the planned demonstration on an additional page. Specific requirements concerning space, power, network, and security should be stated. It is planned that wireless internet access will be provided.

Accepted contributions will be published in the adjunct proceedings of Pervasive 2007 which will be electronically available from the web-site. The demonstrations will be introduced during a plenary session of the conference, and there will also be a reception dedicated to the presentation of posters and demonstrators.

Call for Pervasive 2007 Videos:

With the category of Research Videos, Pervasive 2007 seeks research contributions, future visions, project descriptions, and concepts of pervasive computing technologies, systems and applications. The conference particularly values practical experience with design, deployment and use of pervasive systems and applications, and investigation of exciting and inspiring ideas and technologies.

- New technologies and devices for pervasive computing
- New applications of pervasive computing technologies
- New interfaces and modes of interactions between people and pervasive computing devices, applications or environments
- New tools, infrastructures, architectures and techniques for designing, implementing & deploying pervasive computing applications
- Evaluations and evaluation methods, for assessing the impact of pervasive computing devices, applications or environments
- Privacy, security, trust & social issues and implications of pervasive computing

Each research video will be accompanied by a short paper describing the contribution and as an anchor point for future reference. Submissions must be in Adobe PDF format, conform to the OCG format and up to 4 pages.

To be accepted, a video must be of an appropriate length for the content. It must contain no material subject to copyright (i.e., that the authors cannot grant Pervasive 2007 the right to redistribute freely), and must be easily comprehensible to English speakers. Finally, an accepted video must be standalone, i.e., the video itself (with audio soundtrack) must describe the work sufficiently, without requiring the viewer to read the abstract. Videos will be judged primarily on their communication of interesting research content, with fancy effects being a welcome but secondary consideration.

The EDAS submission website for Pervasive 2007 video papers can be accessed at http://edas.info/5174. When submitting your paper, you must provide a URL at the top of EDAS's "abstract" field to your video, i.e. you must be able and willing to place your video online so that the reviewers can access it. For accepted contributions, the short video paper will be published in the adjunct proceedings of Pervasive 2007 which will be available in printed form as well as electronically on the conference web-site. Accepted videos need to be submited as camera ready video in mpeg (MPEG1/2) or AVI (MPEG-4) as NTSC. (videos submitted for consideration to the video track can be in NTSC or PAL).

The video will be shown in a special video session at Pervasive 2007. This year, we plan to have video proceedings on DVD. If authors have any queries regarding potential submissions, including copyright, please contact the co-chairs.

Call for Pervasive 2007 Doctoral Colloquium Submissions:

The PERVASIVE 2007 doctoral colloquium will be held on Sunday the 13th of May 2007 in Toronto, Canada. We invite PhD students and candidates to present their work-in-progress or preliminary results and gain feedback from an international and renowned audience of researchers and developers in the pervasive computing field.

Doctoral students who have progressed far enough in their research to have an Idea Paper and a structured proposal, but will not be defending their dissertation in the next 6 months are invited to submit a thesis position paper. This 6-month stipulation is set in place because we would like for the students to have sufficient time to incorporate the advice and suggestions discussed in the colloquium.

The submission (approx. 3000 words) should follow the provided template and clearly state:

- the original key idea of the thesis
- the problem domain and the specific problem addressed
- an overview of related work in the area of the PhD work
- methodological approach
- research carried out
- the contribution made in the field of Pervasive Computing

We expect that the submissions relate to the guiding questions provided in the template and that students reflect on their thesis topic.

Submissions in PDF format using the OCG format should be sent by January 26, 2007 electronically to [log in to unmask] . The submissions will be reviewed and based on these reviews, candidates for the doctoral colloquium will be selected.

The accepted thesis position papers will be published in the adjunct proceedings of Pervasive 2007 which will be also electronically available from the Web-site.

Pervasive 2007 is pleased to announce a full day of dedicated workshops to be held in advance of the main conference on Sunday, May 13, 2007. Workshops provide an opportunity to discuss areas of special interest within pervasive computing with like-minded researchers and practitioners. Workshops will be focussed and aimed at sharing of understandings, experiences, and ideas on particular aspects of pervasive computing.

Please note that, prospective workshop attendees require an invitation from the workshop organisers based on acceptance of submitted position papers or explicit request. Upon acceptance, attendees will need to explicitly register for the workshop, which will include a separate workshop fee, in addition to registering for the main conference.
