Heritage Planning Officer
Applications are invited for the above post in the Heritage Planning Unit within Historic Scotland's Heritage Policy Group.You will be based at Historic Scotland's headquarters, Longmore House, Edinburgh. Historic Scotland protects and provides advice on Scotland's historic environment of buildings, monuments, archaeological sites and historic landscapes. You will provide background research and assist in the assessment of the implications for the historic environment of the wide range of development related consultations referred to Historic Scotland. You will be required to have sound background knowledge of Scotland's historic environment and practical experience in the application of both heritage and planning legislation and policy to its protection. An appropriate professional qualification, to degree level, in either archaeology, cultural resource management, town and country planning or an equivalent discipline is essential. Salary is performance related in the range of Band C, £16,892 - £24,040. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment.
