There has been a long standing requirement for site administrators to be
able to send site specific information to new Athens users, so that
users are aware of local information and local practices at their site.
I am pleased to be able to report that this facility is nearing
completion and will be available by the end of this month.
All new personal accounts will receive an introductory message, whether
the account has been created by bulk upload, by an administrator or by
self registration. This message does not replace the administrators
message informing him of the creation of each new personal account by

Within the adminstrator's interface, there will be a new facility to
change the content of this message, with the exception of the last
section which Athens will use to provide security information.
