Hi All ..help!
We are installing a Duocom into a home that has a radio controlled
Ridley pneumatic door opener. Even though we have pointed out the that
the device is obsolete we have been told that there is no funding for a
new opener, so we will have to interface the Duocom to the Ridley
system. Unfortunately this doesn't appear to be as straight forward as I
would have hoped.. They appear to be using it to switch a 12vDC relay,
which in turn is switching a second relay that is directly toggling the
mains supply to the pneumatic pump for the opener.
It doesn't look realistic to try and solder the voltage free output of
the Duocom onto the receiver board at the input to the 12V relay, so the
only other possible (I say possible) alternative appears to be to use
the Duocom lock voltage output to directly switch the second relay!!!!
Unfortunately I can't seem to see any component info, so I don't know
ratings etc, so I don't even know if this is in the realm of consideration.
Has anyone come across this/a similar problem before, or is there anyone
from Ridley still around who could shed some light?
cheers
Jeremy
