The Conservation Unit here at Birmingham Archives are disposing of approx.
50 old document boxes which are surplus to requirements.
The boxes were used for a4 size documents in wallet folders, and are
approximately 25 cms high, 13.5 cms wide and 37.5 cms long. They are
definitely NOT acid free but they do seem to be reasonably inert. They are
in good condition and are quite sturdy, and it does seem a bit of a waste to
throw them away.
If anyone in the Midlands would like these and can collect them they are
very welcome to them - if any specialist repository has unboxed material and
lacks the resources to do anything about it these would be suitable.
