CHANGE OF SPEAKER
The next meeting of the South Wales Group of the RSS is on 6th October 2004 at
the Local Government Data Unit (LGDU) at 5:00pm (4:30pm tea).
A day in the life of a methodologist
Paul Smith, Methodology Directorate, Office for National Statistics
Methodology (technical knowledge of survey methods) is an increasingly
important skill in the Office for National Statistics. But what does a
methodologist actually do? I will outline a few of the recent topics and
challenges and talk about some of the solutions - including mention of the
Census and business surveys. I might also demonstrate how much fun it is..
The seminar will be preceded by a short AGM.
The previously advertised speaker John Treble was unable to present this month.
