=====================================================================
Special Session on Data Mining for Business Intelligence
http://www.neural-forecasting.com/conferences/DMIN05/cfp_dmin05.htm

@ The 2005 International Conference on Data Mining
Part of the 2005 World Congress in Applied Computing
Monte Carlo Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
June 20-23, 2005
======================================================================

We are pleased to announce that in addition to the conference proceedings,
all accepted papers will be invited to submit extended papers for a post conference publication in

"Advances in Soft Computing for Managerial Decision Making"

published by Springer in the series "Studies in Computational Intelligence", to be launched shortly.
Typing instructions etc. for the post conference publication will be provided during the session in Las Vegas.

======================================================================

Dear Colleagues

The world's largest gathering of researchers in computer science & engineering, applied computing and information systems will be held in June 2005. You are invited to submit a draft paper for the special session on Data Mining for Business Intelligence at the 2005 International Conference on Data Mining (DMIN'05), one of 30 research conferences.

Business intelligence (BI) represents a broad category of applications, technologies and methods to enhance managerial decision making in public and corporate enterprises from operational to strategic level. Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery in Databases can significantly enhance decision making in various application domains. Conventional statistical methods as Computational Intelligence (CI), including neural, fuzzy and evolutionary computation, support vector machines, particle swarms etc. have proven increasingly effective in supporting these decisions. All accepted and presented papers will be published in the conference proceedings and considered for specific journals. Please see instructions below.

TOPICS OF INTEREST
Methods (include but are not limited to):
- artificial neural networks (all paradigms)
- fuzzy, evolutionary & hybrid methods
- support vector machines (all paradigms)
- particle swarms
- statistical & econometric methods
- etc.

Applications (include but are not limited to):
- predictive analytics (analysis, explanation, forecasting and prediction)
- knowledge discovery in databases
- data mining (temporal & structural)
    - regression
    - classification
    - association
    - clustering / segmentation etc.
    - etc.

DRAFT PAPERS
Prospective authors are invited to submit a draft paper (IEEE style) in PDF-format via email to the special session organiser by the due date. The first page of the draft paper must include: title of the paper, name, affiliation, postal address, E-mail address, telephone & Fax number for each author, indicating the name of the author who will be presenting the paper (if accepted) & a maximum of 5 keywords. Papers will be refereed for originality, significance, clarity and soundness by at least two independent reviewers in the topical area.

Categories of accepted draft papers include:
- (RRP) Regular Research Papers, 7-page IEEE-style publication in the proceedings, 20-minute formal presentation slot.
- (RRR) Regular Research Reports, 7-page IEEE-style publication in the proceedings, Presentation in an informal setting (during Discussion Sessions - for authors with language difficulties)
- (SRP) Short Research Papers, 4-page IEEE-style publication in the proceedings, Presentation in an informal setting (during Discussion Sessions.) Same presentation mode as RRR papers.
- (PST) Posters, 1-page IEEE-style publication in the proceedings, Presentation in an informal setting (during Discussion Sessions.)

CAMERA READY PAPERS
The length of the camera ready papers accepted will be limited to 7 IEEE style pages. Standard IEEE templates & typing instructions, copyright forms, conference registration forms etc. will be supplied upon acceptance. After the conference, selected papers will be considered for publication in appropriate journals and special issues. All conference proceedings are considered for inclusion in major database indexes that are designed to provide easy access to the current literature of the sciences (e.g.: ISI Thomson Scientific, IEE INSPEC ..). Presentation time and form will be limited to 20 minutes depending on the submission category

CONFERENCE INFORMATION
The 2004 IMCSE attracted over 1500 researchers from 78 countries. It is anticipated that the 2005 IMCSE will attract over 2000 participants. The 2005 World Congress in Applied Computing (WCAC'05), composed of another 14 major conferences, is held right before the 2005 IMCSE, allowing a total of 30 multidisciplinary conferences!!! Attendees will have full access to all WCAC conferences, sessions & tracks. Both multiconferences are organised by the World Academy of Science www.world-academy-of-science.org
- Each event is a premier conference for presentation of advances in their respective subjects.
- All conferences will be held simultaneously (preceding the IMCSE'05) @ Monte Carlo Resort
- Each conference will have its own proceedings.
