One-day SAS Programming Course
This course is suitable for programmers or statisticians with some
knowledge of SAS or those new to SAS and transferring from another
programming language. It is particularly suited to recently recruited
programmers, those planning a career in the pharmaceutical or chemical
industry or to anyone who needs to write validation or QC programs. The
course is Windows based but the programming taught is equally applicable
to those who use SAS on a mainframe.
The main topics covered by the course are the production of tables of
summary statistics, data listings and data manipulation. Data
manipulation will include merging datasets, DO loops and the use of arrays
for data transposition. The SAS procedures will include PROC MEANS, PROC
FREQ, PROC REPORT, PROC TABULATE and PROC PRINTTO. The SAS MACRO language
will also be introduced. The course aims to increase a student's
understanding of the SAS procedures, enhance their SAS datastep
programming and introduce the use of macros to automate repetitive tasks.
