Re: Tenure-Track Assistant Professor
The Department of Statistics at the University of British Columbia invites
applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship starting July 1,
1999, subject to final budgetary approval. The successful applicant will
hold a Ph.D. in statistics and have demonstrated a potential for excellence
in teaching and research in areas consistent with the Department's
Strategic Plan (see http://www.stat.ubc.ca). Those areas include but are
not limited to the thematic concentrations that have been or are being
developed as part of the Plan: (1) Environmetrics and Environmental Health;
(2) Biostatistics; (3) Financial Risk Assessment; (4) Information,
Measurement Error and Robustness. Duties will include research as well as
undergraduate/graduate teaching. A competitive salary based on
qualifications will be offered. Apply by March 1, 1999. Include a
