We are seeking to appoint a research associate in medical statistics to
join the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC) in the
Department of Social Medicine, University of Bristol (Ref: 15379).

The post has two main roles: the first will be working on a project funded
by the World Cancer Research Fund investigating the relationships between
dietary patterns in childhood and later body fatness. Analytical approaches
will include cluster analysis, regression methods and analyses involving
repeated measures. You will also perform literature reviews and contribute
to writing papers and reports.

The second role will involve liaising with ALSPAC collaborators enabling
access to the resource and providing ongoing support, often of a
statistical nature. You will also be asked to assist with other projects to
be identified.

The post would be ideally suited to someone with an MSc in epidemiology or
medical statistics though we would consider individuals with a related
postgraduate qualification containing a substantial statistical component.

If successful, you may be appointed either on a fixed term or a permanent
contract depending on the extent of your previous relevant research
experience. Further information can be found at
www.bristol.ac.uk/personnel/ftc/
