As part of a collaboration between the Bioinformatics Group at the
Paterson Institute and the Academic Department of Radiation Oncology at
the Christie Hospital, we are seeking a Postdoctoral Biostatistician to
provide knowledge and expertise in the analysis and interpretation of
data arising from translational, radiotherapy-related research.
The project involves working closely with clinical staff focused on the
treatment of cancer patients, and aims to develop an improved
understanding of the molecular basis of patient response to cancer
treatment. As well as analysing clinical data from cancer patients and
experimental data obtained from clinical samples, the analysis of
microarray data collected as part of clinical studies will form a large
part of the research, one goal of which is to study the human
transcriptomes associated with the response of normal and malignant
cells to radiotherapy.
This is an excellent opportunity to carry out a wide spectrum of
research ranging from basic to clinical science.
A PhD in Biostatistics or a related discipline is required.
