Dear ADS User,

You might have seen the recent announcement of the ADS Economic Impact
project:
http://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/blog/2012/05/new-study-on-the-impact-o
f-the-ads/. This is an important project for the sector as it will be
extremely useful to be able to demonstrate to funding bodies and
depositors the economic benefits of having a freely accessible domain
specific archive for research outputs and other archaeological resources.

YOUR VIEWS ARE IMPORTANT:
This survey is being conducted by independent economists and consultants
supported by the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC). It is one of
two parallel surveys (ADS depositors and users respectively), and should
take no more than 15 minutes of your time to complete. Your input will
make a significant contribution to the evaluation and also potentially to
assessing future evaluation approaches for other research data services
and infrastructure.

ECONOMIC IMPACT:
The main focus of the study is to explore and develop estimates of the
economic impacts of the Archaeology Data Service (ADS). This requires
economic data on the costs, time, and benefits involved for its various
stakeholders. Collecting and calculating this can be challenging and we
are testing and evaluating a number of new as well as existing approaches
and methods. It is very important to note the questions on costs are
HYPOTHETICAL and do not reflect any change to the ADS policy of free open
access to all its resources.

TIMETABLE:
We would be grateful if you could complete the questionnaire by Friday
29th June 2012.

Please follow this URL to start the Questionnaire:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ADS-Users

(If you have deposited with the ADS and would like to answer the
depositors survey please use this link
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ADS_Depositors )

AMAZON VOUCHER DRAW
We understand you may have received other requests to respond to surveys
and there are many demands on your time. We value your participation,
knowledge and input to this research. As a token of appreciation for
contributing, all participants who complete the survey are also given the
opportunity to enter a draw to win one of FIVE 20 Amazon vouchers.

We would be very grateful if you could find the few minutes needed to
complete this survey and would like to thank you for your use and support
of the ADS.

Regards,
Stuart.
