Hello Members,
Im Glynn,
As an Estates based building surveyor, I have just been appointed
to represent Estates for the University of Sheffield, and liaise with
other deparments and academics regarding access, D.D.Act
issues etc.
My main interest is in improving facilities within the Estate
and also helping the University to achieve complience. I would
like to think that this is for posotive reasons rather than
defensive management.
Becoming arthritic circa 1995 I understand just what it means
to appear absalutely O.K to everyone else but just not quite
able to do what I used to. But I still have my design skills.
I think that D.D.A is long overdue but what a shame that it
takes some serious legislation to move peoples attitudes.
I work with a team of people on occasions who have seperate
but related responsibilities for Safety, Student Support and
Employees/Personnel issues.
Glynn.
