Welcome to the website of the Group Analysis Internet Forum, an online group for members of the Institute of Group Analysis. The forum currently comprises an e-mail list (GROUP-ANALYSIS@JISCMAIL.AC.UK), a videoconferencing and Instant Message facility, and this website.
The forum was set up originally in 2000 as an open forum for the public, international exchange of theory, experience, research and practice of group analysis, also for networking, offering solidarity, support and challenge, soliciting and sharing information and sources of information, etc. In early days of the list, the majority of messages appeared to be striving to generate group-analytic discourse online. By the end of 2005, the list had become for the most part a sort of bulletin board for jobs and conferences. At the same time, there was an expressed need amongst IGA members for a forum in which dialogue in a secure setting might take place about issues of concern. In these circumstances, the list was re-configured and membership reviewed so that instead of it being open to anyone interested in group analysis, it became only be available to members of the Institute of Group Analysis.
