This list is a place for researchers working with critical social science
approaches to share information on and discuss fisheries and oceans.
'Critical' is used in an explicitly heterodox way and the list is open to
people working with a variety of theoretical approaches, methods and
scales (from local to global optics). A unifying agenda is to advance
collective debate and understanding on anthropological political-economic,
social-ecological dynamics in fisheries, both contemporary and historical,
with a view to challenge the status quo and contribute to bringing-about
progressive change. It is expected that there are differences among
listserv members on how to think about and achieve change in fisheries
systems; the ethos of the list is that differences are respected and
debating in a cordial manner.
