The International Celtic Studies Network was established in 2012 to support
and promote cooperation and information sharing between those involved in
any areas of research on histories, cultures, politics, and peoples
historically named as Celtic.
For the purposes of the network, Celtic studies is not defined as a specific
academic paradigm, but is instead used as an embracing term designed to
facilitate exchange and information sharing and to promote cooperation
between individuals and institutions with interests in any relevant
discipline or field of study. Membership is open to scholars,
professionals, and unaffiliated individuals with relevant academic or
The network is coordinated by an interdisciplinary team of academics based at
the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Liverpool John Moores
University. Its core activities involve facilitating information exchange
and networking through regular bulletins and a planned series of network
meetings and symposia.
