Dear Mailbase, Many people have wrote concerning how Frictions aid recovery. The main point of Frictions as I see it is to simply break up the scar tissue. To aid correct healing, stretching the structure (muscle, ligament)after frictions should faciltate laying down of correct collagen orientation (not criss cross). By stretching you are applying 'normal' lines of force through the tissue, which will cause it to heal the damaged tissue in a fashion where it can cope with these lines of force. The collagen fibres should therefore be parallel to the natural lines of force and no longer be causing a problem. Nicholas Farmer %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
