Just so I don't appear to be contradicting myself mentioning on the one hand an increasing number of people from an MRCP background and on the other stating that most of our SpR's are FRCS (A+E). An increasing number of our SpR's now seem to be DUAL qualified with MRCP and FRCS (A+E) (in addition to those who started on MRCP path, leaving it after part 1). These are people who have done the MRCP primary and then go on to do MRCP as a senior SHO or even once attaining their SpR post (very impressive). I do not see so many dually qualified surgeons locally.
