ESRC/UKES Two Day Sponsored Postgraduate Workshop for Students in the Social Sciences on 'Evaluation and Research', 20th-21st January 2000, University of the West of England, Bristol

The UK Evaluation Society is holding the second of its advanced training courses for postgraduate students in the social sciences on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st January 2000.

The focus for the training event will be what makes evaluation a distinctive experience within social science research. Using an active approach, the course providers will build on your research training by introducing you to the range of practices, values and protocols associated with evaluation.

Themes addressed in the training event will include differences in audience, purposes, use, method, ethics and theory in evaluation and research practice.

There will be presentations, group discussions and evaluation surgeries over the two-day period. Presenters will be members of the UK Evaluation Society Council who have national and international reputations in their fields. The programme will cover a range of evaluation contexts including social policy, education and community policy.

ESRC sponsorship has allowed a course fee of only £50 including all accommodation and catering costs. Both full and part-time students registered for research degrees are eligible.
