in conjunction with the Eleventh International Conference
on Database and Expert Systems Applications (DEXA'2000)

Workshop proceedings to be published by IEEE

Extended versions of selected papers will invited for
contribution in a special issue of Journal of Applied System
Studies (Cambridge International Science Publishers)

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION:
Holing and Multi-Agent Systems provide a novel paradigm
for managing, modelling and supporting complex systems.
This concept proved to be successful in number of industrial
domains such as manufacturing, resource allocation, air traffic.
The workshop aims to bring together researchers active in the
area of holing and multi-agent systems together with key
engineers and industrial decision makers to share their views
and experience in research, design, development and applying
Holing and Multi-Agent Systems for industrial problems.

Program committee encourages submissions of contributions
discussing questions (but are not limited to) such as:

* Successful Industrial Applications of Holonic and Multi-Agent
(Case-Studies are specially appreciated)
* Differences and similarities between the concept of Holons
and Agents
* Theoretical background behind holing/agent concepts (do
they converge to each other?)
* Visions and future trends of Holonic and Multi-Agent Systems
* Standardisation issues, industrial needs
* Obstacles and barriers of industrial applicability

SUBMISSION DETAILS
All papers will be refereed by at least 2 members of the program
committee. All accepted papers will be published by IEEE in
a volume of proceedings of the DEXA'2000 workshops.
