A seminar for those responsible for making decisions about the delivery of
language courses and the provision of language learning support: Heads of
Modern Language Departments, Deans of Arts Faculties, Directors of Language
Centres and Heads of Teaching and Learning Teams

Monday 8 November 1999 11.00 - 15.45 at CILT, 20 Bedfordbury, London WC2

SMILE, the HEFCE-DENI funded projec on the open learning of languages and
advising for language
learning, cordially invites you to a seminar on the role of language
advisers. Far from being a luxury that hard-pressed universities cannot
afford, advisers play a vital part in areas such as cost effectiveness and
quality enhancement. Speakers at the seminar, themselves managers, will
attempt to define the concept of advising
and illustrate the benefits of an advisory service with a number of case
studies.
