Subject: test of knowledge in clin epi/ crit appraisal?

I have been looking for a simple, easy to administer paper and pencil test
of
knowledge about clinical epidemiogy and/or critical appraisal. In the
systematic review by Green (Green ML. Graduate medical education training in
clinical epidemiology, critical appraisal, and evidence-based medicine: a
critical review of the curricula. Acad Med 1999; 74: 686) studies appear
that
used their own methods to assess knowledge of clinical epidemiology.
However
the methods themselves have apparently not been published, based on the data
table supplied by Green (table 3) and perusal of the articles which reported
using tests or examinations that were not based on review of a single
article,
ie, that tested general knowledge. Review of most but not all of the
articles also mentioned in the review by Norman et al (Norman GR, Shannon
SI.
Effectiveness of instruction in critical appraisal (evidence-based medicine)
skills: a critical appraisal. Can Med Assoc J 1998; 158: 177) also failed to
reveal any that actually published the tests they used.
So I wonder if anyone offhand is aware of a published test that one can use
to assess learners' general knowledge of clinical epidemiological concepts
and
terms?
Thanks in advance. I will post any useful responses back to the list.
