hmm,
just heard on the news the journalist made a comment that he was frail and
nearly blind -- "hardly looking presidential". Later in the news report
(this was via public television -- for got which program) they talked about
how his strokes had affected is decision making process - and that he is
being inconsistent with his decisions. -- (or did they say irrational -
can't remember). supposedly those closest to him have said since his
January 98 (or was it 99?) stroke he hasn't been "as sharp". They were
also saying he was "mailable" (in part do to his decision making process --
and some of the "negotiations" he made to come to this position).

Interesting dialogue - and sorry to not be able to produce the specifics.
(It might have been the Lehr news hour? -- the one with Sheals and Shegoes
-- i know, my spelling is horrible -- it's kind of phonetic?) regardless
of my spelling and poor memory for names -- it will be an interesting story
to track.

best,
Suzanne Levine
