Apologies for cross postings.

Available now to be downloaded from the Mathwise FTP site is the
Mathwise TLTP 97 Version and the TLTP 99 upgrades for this.
Please tell us what you are doing or intend to do with Mathwise by
filling out the feedback form on the web at
http://mat-nt2.bham.ac.uk/mwug/f-info.htm

The 1997 release of the TLTP version of Mathwise has been
distributed in two ways:
[1] by FTP from for.mat.bham.ac.uk, login ukmcc, password
available on request for the UK HE sector
[2] on a red & white CD-ROM as Issue 2, serial number
MWW3X02NA)

The TLTP 97 release contained a number of fundamental bugs that
seriously impaired the use of many of the modules.

FTP directory TLTP99 contains new versions of all modules from
which the most bugs (in particular the bug that causes the 'System
book not found') have been eliminated. Please be advised however
that many smaller remain in this release and that the material has
not been edited or quality assured in any way. For fully QAed
versions of the Mathwise it is necessary to purchase the
commercial version of the software.

2. Installation: update the TLTP Issue 2 modules you should carry
out the following:

[1] Install the Issue 2 system & modules onto hard-disc
[2] Remove read-only protection on all files
[3] Download the new versions of the modules from the ftp site
   to a temporary directory
[4] Un-zip each module ZIP file into the appropriate module
directory, opting to overwrite the old files. Note that the
ZIP files contain only the module files that needed changing.
Please note that these files are zipped using version 7 of
    Winzip.
[5] You will also need to download an update to some of the
system
files. This is the sysbooks.zip file. Unzip the contents of this
to the Mathwise system directory (eg. c:\mathwise), overwriting
   the old files.

** IMPORTANT **

To run M5BASE it is necessary to copy the tbgrm1b.dll file,
contained in m5base.zip, into the Mathwise system directory.

If downloading this from the FTP site please make sure that you
read the "readme" files first.

For those of you using Windows NT I refer you to a list of
precautions available on the web at
