Hello Sophie,

I am not sure why Julie would want to "sneak" in the extra pressure. if it is a true CRPS, they have true, deep, sensory pain and will feel it whether they actively put pressure on it or you sneak it.

It is a slow process and needs persistence and patience but the desenitising programme is a good start to allow you to get into more active things.

I would invest in a gym ball - they are the most wonderful tool so versatile and lots of fun.

Cheers,

Anna

    About nine months ago - and, no, she will only do minimal active movements
    though the ankle does go through a pretty good range when she does actually
    weightbear on it - can walk short distances sometimes but not others

    Eeek I haven't got a ball! They sound like good suggestions and I shall try
    to borrow one. Will contact you again if successful.
    Thanks ++
