Von der Osten & Vey (1969) suggested that his name was Jeroen van Aken and that he was called Bosch after the town 's-Hertogenbosch to which his father had moved, although, unfortunately they do not quote their source. Such abbeviations are common in Dutch even today, witness Den Haag for 's-Gravenhage. Regards John H Hall Tel: 0208 527 0818 Fax: 0208 523 1885 email: [log in to unmask] Mobile: 07867 980 174
