Dear Learned Friends,
I cast no aspersions on whoever is "right or wrong", and hope none are
taken.
"The air of liberty, the light of truth; Much have ye suffered from Time's
gnawing tooth".
And as Theodore Roosevelt wrote, "There has been much discussion as to
whether history should not henceforth be treated as a branch of science
rather than literature.......The great historian of the future can not be
excused if he fails to draw on the vast storehouses of knowledge that have
been accumulated......He must use the instruments which the historians of
the past did not have ready to hand."
A vision of the internet in 1913?
