Wolfson Institute Seminar: The genetic determinants of coronary artery disease in Europe. By: Professor David Galton Department of Human Genetics and Metabolism St Bartholomew's & The Royal London School of Medicine & Dentistry There is wide variation in the incidence of premature coronary artery disease within Europe and these differences have been previously attributed to environmental factors such as diet. A recent study (the European Biomed project) suggests that genetic variation accounts for some of the observed differences between countries. This seminar will present some of the findings of the Biomed project.
