Industrial Heritage in Change
Analysis and evaluation of Industrial Heritage Projects in Sweden
6-8 Oct 1999

During the last two decades several projects in order to transform the industrial heritage into new shapes and efforts to find new ways of dealing with this heritage has been developing in Sweden. As a common purpose there is the will to preserve and give access to the industrial heritage for coming generations.

1990 a conference was held in Bergslagen concerning the Industrial Heritage in this district of Sweden. Several new and recently started projects were presented at this occasion. What has come about of these projects today? Some of them has developed a lot, others have been given a different content and some have failed to be realised.  Are there any common features in these projects?  How has they been managed? Which are the most important ideas that have brought them to success?

A conference dealing with these type of questions will be arranged in Bergslagen, Ramnäs bruk, Surahammar 6 – 8 of October 1999 by Ekomuseum Bergslagen in co-operation with the University of Uppsala, The Royal Highscool of Technology in Stockholm and the University of Linköping.
The conference will be documented in a report. Anyone interested in these questions are welcome to order the conference programme with all details.  Mail at [log in to unmask]
