I've found a couple around here called "Teufelsbrunnen" which means "Devil's Well". That seems a distinctly unholy connotation. Also found some oddly named springs and wells near sites called "Hexentanzplatz" which means "Witches' Dancing Places" also rather unholy. >> I don't think this necessarily implies an "unholy well". Possibly the local Christians knew that non-Christians went to the well for healing or other rites and gave the well a bad name to scare people off.
