Dear List, I am finshing up my PhD on Richard Rolle and would like to add some illustrations to the text but have found some items difficult to pin down. My remote location makes it impossible for me to visit any manuscript archives therefore I was wondering if anyone could tell me where I could find reproductions of the following: The Desert of Religion - BL MS Faustina B VI (it contains a picture of Rolle which I have but I would like to see the others). 14/15c representations of the Annunciate Virgin Mary sitting with a book. 14/15c representations of St. Anne sitting with the Virgin teaching her to read. St. Ignatius with the name of Jesus engraved in gold on his heart. Representations of vanity in the 14/15c - I have seen vanity depicted as a youth in the Lisle Psalter and was hoping to find other non-female examples. Any images of 15c lay-worshipper Cicily, Duchess of York, at her devotions. I would be most grateful if anyone could help me locate some of these. Please feel free to reply off list.
