My feeling is that over the next six months or so the list should be closed. This will give SMR professionals the chance actively to discuss issues relating to their work practices as a group without involving too many others. Mailbase have given us a trial period of 9 months for this list. If we want to keep it going after that we will need to open the group up to academics and students. At which point we might think about converting it to an open list. Personally I wouldn't like to run another separate open SMR list at the same time as this closed one. Too confusing:) I'm not sure how useful the Mailbase web site is to SMRs, more have access to e-mail than the web. I'd be grateful if some of you would take a look at the site and have a go at accessing and downloading the files using either e-mail or the web. web address: http://www.mailbase.ac.uk e-mail: [log in to unmask] with the command Index SMRforum (only message test) You will then get a list of all files (SMR News 5-8) email: [log in to unmask] with the command get mime SMRforum filename Kate %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
