Following on from Tony's point, list members may be interested to hear that the Forum on Information Standards in Heritage (England) aka FISHEN is considering setting up a mailbase discussion list. This is being proposed as an entirely open list, focussing on issues such as standards for content and indexing terminology for heritage systems in their widest sense. Perhaps that list would be the appropriate forum for general open discussion, (plus ranting and axe grinding!) with smrforum providing the specialist SMR community with a more focussed information service. Hopefully a lot of people would be members of both lists. I would be interested to hear any comments.
