New on the market : The Directory of Online European Information 1999

Brussels, 21 June 1999: Landmarks has launched the second and 1999 edition of The Directory of Online European Information. This publication should come as a relief to those frustrated by the slowness and inaccuracy of search engines when looking for EU-related information. All the relevant electronic sources of Europe-related information have been carefully selected and described in a systematic, easy-to-use format aimed at saving the user valuable time and energy.

The Directory of Online European Information includes extensive information on online databases, CD-ROMs and diskettes as well as a comprehensive guide to European information on the Internet. It covers both free and charged for information produced by the European Union Institutions and private companies. This second edition has been 100% meticulously updated from the 1998 version and some 300 entries have been added, bringing the overall number to almost 800. This year a section has been added on European Trade and Professional Associations & Interest Groups Internet sites, as well as those for Political Groups in the European Parliament. Each entry has been classified using symbols: description, content, language, price, access, related products and contact details.

The new edition has 296 pages and is available from Landmarks or in bookshops (ISSN 1373-685X-ISBN 90-74373-08-9) at EUR 115.27 or BEF 4,650 (including VAT + postage) for Belgium, EUR 118.99 or BEF 4,800 for other EU countries and EUR 121.47 or BEF 4,900 for all other countries.

Landmarks also produces The European Public Affairs Directory, now in its ninth edition. This essential reference tool covers 8,500 decision-makers and organisations specialised in European affairs.
