Apologies for cross-posting Institute for Women's Studies, Lancaster University Readership/Senior Lectureship or Lecturer B For details of post: http://www.lancs.ac.uk/users/personnel/jobs/default.htm The Institute for Women's Studies at Lancaster University is a lively research and teaching unit. Since 1996, it has had three full-time academic staff, with the participation of over thirty other members from across the university members (a list of staff research interests is provided below) -- making it a genuinely inter-disciplinary centre. In 1996, the then Centre for Women's Studies was designated by the University Research Committee as one of three new interdisciplinary research institutes. Women's Studies made a crucial and noted contribution to the 5* rating for Sociology at Lancaster University in the last Research Assessment Exercise. Our expectation in this appointment is for a colleague who will continue and develop the positive research and teaching culture and the strong reputation of the Institute. Application and selection procedure Candidates should complete the University application form by July 5th. Candidates should also send a letter of application, outlining their current and future research and teaching activities and interests. Short-listed candidates will be asked to provide a copy of a recent article or book chapter by which they would like to be judged. Candidates will be asked to make a short presentation to staff on 4 August 1999 on their research interests and plans, in relation to the Institute's work. Interviews will be held on 5 August 1999. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
