.  Is there a
>difference between the word "image" and the word "stereotype"?

Good question. Gilman (will give ref. if desired) claims some prefer "image"
because "stereotype" suggests rigidity...make of that what you will. I use
"stereotype" because of its connotations in social psychology (i.e.
recognised connection with the cognitive process of illusory correlation).
