Dear Marijim, > "Lucifer from the beginning of his ruin, will reveal to the Antichrist his > sign , and will write them in *credules* (?) on foreheads or on the hands of > those who will convert to him. Where does Hildegard mention *credules*? Two notes: 1) in the later middle ages, there was a lot of "Hildegard" writings around that weren't actually hers. Most of them go back to Egeno von Eberbach's "digest" of Hildegard. For the French tradition, you should contact Mme Prof. Dr. Laurence Moulinier. 2) I have a feeling that behind the expression is the Latin word "incredulis" which someone took as two words ("in credulis"). In this reading, Antichrist will inscribe his sign on the unbelievers ("incredulis") on their foreheads.
