Clinical Goverance in Mental Health and Learning Disability Services

The Royal College of Psychiatrists' Clinical Governance Support Service
(CGSS) - 2nd June 1999

The first Clinical Governance Support Service Symposium (CGSS) is taking
place on 2nd June 1999 at ORT House Conference Centre, London NW1.  This
event will provide an opportunity to hear about progress on the
implementation of clinical governance from national organisations and NHS
trusts.   A panel discussion will facilitate debate and discussion around
key issues and questions posed by delegates.  The event will be chaired by
Dr Robert Kendell, President of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Key
speakers include: 

· Mr Stephen Firn, Director of Nursing and Quality, Oxleas NHS Trust
· Ms Elaine Taylor-Whilde, Chief Executive, Association for Quality in
Healthcare
· Ms Janice Miles, Associate Policy Officer, NHS Confederation
· Dr David Roy, Medical Director, Lambeth Healthcare NHS Trust
· Dr Paul Lelliott, Director College Research Unit and Joint Chief
Executive, Health Advisory Service 2000
· Dr Gill Harvey, Head of Quality Improvement, Royal College of Nursing
· Mr Julian Brookes, Section Head: Clinical Governance, Department of
Health
· Mr Steve Shurbb, Chief Executive, Northumberland and Mental Health NHS
Trust

The event is aimed at those leading and implementing clinical governance in
mental health and learning disability services.  Clinical and non-clinical
staff will also benefit from attending.

Delegate fees are £45 per person for staff from CGSS member trusts and
£95.00 for staff from other organisations.
