The Royal College of General Practitioners and the Chartered Institute of Housing are pleased to announce their one day conference entitled: 'Why Should Primary Care Teams Work with Housing Agencies; A conference on housing and health'. on Tuesday 29th June, 1999 at St Chad's Court, Edgbaston Birmingham The RCGP Health Inequalities Task Group and the Chartered Institute of Housing are organising a national conference to bring together professionals from the health and housing sectors to explore common concerns including housing and mental health, social exclusion and the health related problems of particular groups such as homeless people, refugees and frail older people. The Conference will adopt an international perspective and aims to highlight issues surrounding housing and health agencies working together, Mental health and housing policies, equity of access issues and moving house on medical grounds. The outcome of the conference will be to help prepare the ground for more effective co-operation between GPs and Housing Officers, to develop policy recommendations for the parent bodies, the RCGP and the CHI, and to promulgate these widely, to the government and among health and housing agencies, both private and statutory.and housing agencies, both private and statutory.
