Dear all,

The first tantalising details of the postgraduate meeting set to eclipse
'The Phantom Menace' have arrived.

Please find enclosed exclusive information about the 1999 Economic Geography
Research Group (EGRG) Postgraduate Symposium.

The symposium will be held on Wednesday 30 June at the Geography Department,
Queen Mary and Westfield College (Mile End or Stepney Green tube) from about
10:30 to 17:30. It'll cost approximately £5 (including tea and coffee) with
B&B available (£22.64 per night, 29 + 30 June). It's open to anyone
interested in economics, geography and in particular economic geography.

The symposium will provide an opportunity for postgraduates to present their
research in a lively, supportive and informal atmosphere. There will also be
a discussion on issues such as methodology, new areas of research and the
place of economic geography in academia.

Papers are still welcome on any aspect of economic geography and from
postgraduates at any stage of their research. Please submit proposals for
papers in the form of a 200 word abstract to Rupert Waters by the 1st June
1999. Submissions should include telephone, fax and e-mail details.

An application will be circulated via email in the near future with paper
copies available from Paul Kent at the below address.

For further information about the symposium or for accommodation details
please contact either Rupert 'Skywalker' Waters or Paul 'Jabba the' Kent.
