**Searching the Internet**

Searching is a process fundamental to using the Internet effectively, but
one that is difficult as the number of search services increases and
diversifies. The seminar is intended to give a practical overview of the
major services available, both general and specialist. Speakers will
demonstrate the main features of services in a critical and evaluative
way, emphasising their appropriateness for information professionals. The
seminar should be of value to those who know little of search services and
those with more experience who wish to extend their knowledge.
